Membership Info
Overview
APIA represents the interests of companies involved in transmission pipelines in Australia and companies which provide goods and services to the pipeline industry.
Benefits of Membership
Membership of APIA increases the industry’s influence in debates about, as well as the development of, government policy and regulatory matters that impact on profitability and future investment in transmission pipelines. Attendance at the many functions held around Australia also provides networking opportunities and access to information about the industry.
APIA ’s committees are proactive, providing information exchange and access to new developments in the industry.
APIA members receive monthly updates from the secretariat and a free copy of The Australian Pipeliner.
The APIA Annual Conference and Exhibition is the main event in the calendar of the pipeline industry – and other, related, industries – providing opportunities for participants to exhibit their goods to the major companies and decision-makers in the industry.
Categories of Membership
APIA has six levels of membership:
- Sponsoring - The Sponsoring Members are our owner members who own major Australian long-distance high-pressure transmission pipelines.
- Lead - The Lead Members are major operating companies or other large, influential companies committed to the pipeline industry.
- Corporate - The Corporate Members are large and small companies that operate in the pipeline industry.
- Individual - Open to any individual consultant with an interest in the pipeline industry. Employees of a company operating in the pipeline industry will not be accepted as an Individual Member of APIA unless the company employing that person is a Full Member of APIA.
- Employee - Open to employees of full members of the Company. This category was introduced to enable employees of members to remain informed on APIA matters.
- Honorary - Conferred on persons who have made an outstanding contribution to the Company.
The first three categories are Full Membership, which entitles holders to a broader range of services, allows the member a vote for Board Membership and also allows the Member’s Representative to stand for the APIA Board.
