YPF Events

Since the Forum in May 2006 the YPF there have been various YPF events around Australia, largely thanks to the enthusiasm of the YPF State representatives, as well as an increased young pipeliner presence at industry events.

Recently, the YPF ACT/NSW ran an information afternoon at the UNSW that allowed current students to come along and learn about the industry and to meet other young pipeliners and industry professionals.

YPF Wollongong Visit

This is a tremendous opportunity for younger members of the industry. APIA is offering our younger members a tour of the facilities of our members based in Wollongong. Visit manufacturing sites involved in the production of coated steel pipe in Australia. You will get to see the entire pipe making process from steel production through to coated pipe and chat with some of Australia’s leading technical representatives.

The two-day tour is schedule for 12 and 13 April, and participants will also have the opportunity to attend the APIA Sydney dinner on the evening of 12 April. Transport to and from Sydney is being provided by BlueScope Steel.

There will be no charge for the tour, the only associated costs will be transport to Sydney, accommodation and the optional APIA dinner on the 12 April. All the YPFers have to do is get to Sydney on the morning of 12 April for transport to the ‘Gong. The “Gang at the ‘Gong” tour will finish on the afternoon of 13 April and participants will be bussed to Sydney airport that evening.
